MURS PVC PRO

Les revêtements muraux PVC et l'environnement : Introduction

PVC

PVC is the third most consumed plastic in the world. It is mainly used in the building sector for about 2/3 of its consumption.

PVC is stemming from salt for 57% and from petroleum products for 43% (the refinery residuum, resulting from the refining performed to process petroleum into heavy oil, is used).

Les engagements des revêtements muraux PVC pour l’environnement

The companies members of Murs PvcPRO involve in the protection of the environment through several commitments:

  • A continuous product improvement process
  • Giving up heavy metal like cadmium and lead
  • ISO 14001 certified plants, clear and transparent answers to the 7 targets of the HQE® Approach

La certification ISO 14001 de nos usines : gage de prise en compte de l'environnement

The ISO 14001 certification is the guarantee that the environment is taken into account in all manufacturing stages (increase of internal recycling, waste reduction, management of releases to water and air).

Attributed after a meticulous audit of the site and valid for three years, the standard certifies that a rigorous follow-up of the environmental aspects as well as of a series of measures aiming at protecting the environment have actually been put in place.

La réponse des murs PVC à la démarche HQE®

The HQE® (high environmental quality) approach is the only environmental approach that:

  • Aims at controlling the impacts of the building on its external as well as internal environment
  • Takes into account the whole life time of a product or building
  • Is objective and clear, has no preconception and is based on Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
  • Lets the project manager choose his/her priorities
This is why the companies members of Murs PvcPRO have committed themselves in this approach and present the answers of their products to the 7 targets concerning them.
